Hello all,
This is a quick synopsis of my mini vacation to Palm Beach Florida.
This trip was a long overdue visit to my family and friends in Florida, I had no preconceived ideas as to how I wanted my trip to go, I was very open to whatever came my way, also taking in consideration the fact that I had my 2 year old son.
To begin I must say I love the easy going stress free nature of Florida, the abundance of pools and beaches, the warm smiles from strangers, the air and never having to dress in more than one layer. The first thing I noticed was how perfect the landscaping was and how uniformed the buildings and houses were, all this made me think and wonder ‘do we not pay taxes in NY’.
As for vacation things, I really don’t think I did any of those but what I did plenty was go to Wal-Mart! Why in God’s name does Floridians visit Wal-Mart so often? I was really appalled by how many times I went. What was amazing other than Wal-Mart was the country boyz with super long T-shirts super white sneakers and 20 inch wheels spinning to match their grills.
However there was more to my trip, I had a good time hanging out with dad, who cooked for me and pampered me one whole day and was very excited to have his grandson following him around shouting 'granddad'. I must also give credit to my cousins who took time out to drive me around and show me what Florida is really about and the simple pleasures in life which I am unable to enjoy here in the Big Apple. Thanks to my friend Sydia who made time for me and took me to a lovely dinner out in Pembroke Pines. I want to also big up Rasta (Danny) for of course being a great host! Overall my trip was very peaceful and relaxing. As for my son he had tons of fun he saw lots of space and he utilized it vivaciously with lots of running and socializing with his cousins!
Oh Florida I will miss all that sunshine and southern accent ‘wey they do that at’ and ‘wey u stay at’
We must record and cherish the simple moments in life, even though they are only memories we have proof of those memories by writing and taking pictures.
Thanks guys for a lovely time!
